Message from the Chairperson

Welcome to our annual GI Society Golf Marathon! I look forward to seeing everyone on the Ridge course at Northview Golf and Country Club on Saturday Oct 5th, 2013.

We had an amazing time at last year’s Marathon, where we raised $31,000. This year, let’s work together to make the annual Golf Marathon a $100,000 event!

I want to give a big THANK YOU to everyone who supports this event – we couldn’t do it without the help of our donors, golfers, volunteers, and sponsors.

When you ask for donations to support your participation in the Golf Marathon, you not only raise money to help the GI Society continue providing evidence-based knowledge transfer material, but you also help increase awareness of GI and liver conditions. Quite often, when I ask my colleagues, friends, and family members to make tax-deductible donations, they tell me how they have been affected personally by a digestive disease or disorder and thank me for informing them of the GI Society and the great resources offered on http://www.badgut.org.

Since we created this exciting event in 1999, we have grown the Golf Marathon into an annual bash that raises essential funds for the GI Society and that our participants and sponsors look forward to year after year. We are thrilled to see the number of golfers participating again this year — and bringing their friends! Thank you for helping us grow this event and take it to the next level.

Haven’t signed up yet? Register today to get started on raising your pledges for this great cause. I’ll see you on the green!
